Strong collaboration foundation with Pusat Tenaga Malaysia (PTM), now known as Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), since 2005 through successful learning curve has produced a local grid-connected PV inverter, which is a part of the Malaysia Building Integrated Photovoltaic (MBIPV) Technology Application. Via this networking, HICoE UMPEDAC has contributed to the development of government policies such as the Langkawi Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint, Electric Vehicles Roadmap Development, and the Development of Training Needs, Capacity Building, and Standards to Support Electric Vehicles Value Chain in Malaysia.
On 4th October 2023, MGTC and Universiti Malaya have strengthened this partnership by providing technical cooperation within a framework for the execution of programs known as “Training on Solar PV for Beginners” and “Solar PV System Design and Operation”.
The event was attended by Ts. Shamsul Bahar Mohd Nor (Group CEO), Mr. Rahimi Muhammad (MGTC Chairman), Professor Ir. Dr. Shaliza Binti Ibrahim (Deputy Vice Chancelor (Research & Innovation)), who was representing the Vice Chancelor of Universiti Malaya, Professor Ir. Dr. Nasrudin Abd Rahim (Executive Director of HICoE UMPEDAC), Professor Ts. Dr. Jeyraj Selvaraj (Deputy Director of UMPEDAC), and Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Yap Hwa Jen (Director of UMConsult).
